Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Quality & Test Engineer ensures products meet quality standards and customer requirements through structured quality processes and robust product testing and validation.
This role owns product verification and validation, leads root cause and corrective actions, and supports continuous improvement across engineering and production in alignment with the 2G Quality Management System (QMS).
Reports to the Engineering Manager.
Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities
Quality Engineering (50%)
- Maintain and improve QMS processes, documentation, and controls
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (NCR, CAPA)
- Develop inspection plans, control plans, PFMEAs, and validation documentation
- Monitor process performance using SPC and other tools
- Support internal and external audits
- Partner with engineering and suppliers to improve product quality and manufacturability
- Track and report quality metrics
Test Engineering & Validation (40%)
- Develop and execute validation and verification test plans
- Design and build test fixtures, equipment, and procedures
- Define testing strategies during product development
- Execute functional, verification, and factory acceptance testing (FAT)
- Analyze test data and document results
- Troubleshoot failures and support root cause investigations
- Maintain calibration of test equipment
Production Support (10%)
- Support production troubleshooting, rework, and inspections
- Assist with product assembly and urgent builds as needed
- Support make-in-house components and shop equipment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field
- 2–5 years of quality, test, or manufacturing engineering experience
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar QMS
- Working knowledge of quality tools (SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis)
- Experience with product testing and validation
- Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T
