Role summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong backend development expertise to build scalable APIs, distributed systems, platforms, and engineering frameworks. The role involves designing and building scalable backend systems, architecting microservices, writing production-grade code, and contributing to technical decisions. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency in Python and/or Java, and understanding of microservices and distributed systems, with experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure. Strong problem-solving skills and communication are essential. Preferred qualifications include exposure to Golang, Typescript, high-growth SaaS environments, data platforms, and prior mentoring experience.

Role Overview

We are looking for a high-impact Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in backend development. The ideal candidate should have deep experience building scalable APIs, distributed systems, platforms, or engineering frameworks. You will play a key role in building scalable systems and driving engineering excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build scalable backend systems and APIs
  • Develop robust and production-grade applications
  • Architect APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
  • Collaborate with product, data, and design teams
  • Write clean, production-grade code
  • Contribute to system design and technical decisions
  • Mentor junior engineers

    • What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering
  • Experience with Python and/or Java
  • Understanding of microservices and distributed systems
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and an ownership mindset

    • Good to Have

  • Exposure to Golang and Typescript
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS environments
  • Exposure to data platforms or analytics systems
  • Prior experience mentoring or leading engineers

    • Base Salary Range: $$191,360.00 - $287,040.00. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location and experience. The base salary is one component of 6sense’s total compensation package for this position. Other compensation may include a bonus program or commission plan, and stock options if approved by 6sense’s board.
