About the Role

We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve the cloud platform behind Software Factory — 8090's AI-native SDLC orchestration product. You'll be the person who makes sure our infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and easy for the dev team to ship on. This isn't a pure ops role. We want someone who's full-stack capable — you've built web apps, you understand what developers need, and you bring that empathy to how you design infrastructure and CI/CD. But your specialty is cloud infrastructure, and that's where you'll spend most of your time.

Responsibilities

• AWS Infrastructure (CDK): ECS compute (API server + task server), Aurora RDS, Cognito auth, S3 storage, Redis, SQS queues, CloudFront static site hosting, API Gateway — all defined in TypeScript CDK
• CI/CD Pipelines: GitHub Actions workflows for dev/prod deployments, ephemeral preview environments, release automation, integration tests, and e2e fixtures
• Monitoring & Alerting: CloudWatch dashboards, structured log alarms, LLM cost/latency alerting, queue depth monitoring via Lambda
• Auto-Scaling: ECS service scaling, queue-based task server scaling, pre-emptive scaling for releases
• Background Jobs: SQS-driven email queue, Stripe sync Lambda, queue metrics Lambda
• Deployment Operations: Blue/green deployments, release previews, ephemeral environment lifecycle, database migrations
• Security & Compliance: IAM roles (GitHub OIDC), Cognito configuration, network security (VPC), tenancy compliance

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on with AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC — the real stuff, not just tutorials)
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code — CDK (TypeScript) strongly preferred, Terraform/CloudFormation acceptable
• Built and maintained CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred)
• Full-stack development experience (React + Python/Node backend) — you've shipped features, not just infra
• Comfortable with containerized deployments (Docker, ECS Fargate)
• Experience with database operations — migrations, backups, Aurora/PostgreSQL
• Monitoring and observability mindset — you set up alerts before things break

Required Skills

• Experience with Celery/Redis task queues
• Cost optimization experience (right-sizing, reserved instances, spot)
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads (LLM API integrations, GPU instances)
• SOC 2 or enterprise compliance experience
• Load testing and performance tuning

Pay range and compensation package

Expected compensation (US-based employees): $100,000 - $250,000 annual salary + stock and/or stock option awards + benefits. We offer competitive pay and benefits. Compensation may vary depending on many individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
