YouTube Data Analyst
Role summary
9 Story is seeking a YouTube Data Analyst to join their growing digital team. This role focuses on optimizing existing YouTube channels, informing new channel launches, tracking digital trends across YouTube and social platforms, and identifying strategic opportunities. The analyst will manage the Tubular Data Analytics System, conduct audits, and generate monthly reports with key metrics, visualizations, and competitive analyses. Responsibilities include analyzing audience behavior, standardizing data for stakeholders, and managing the Tubular platform relationship. The ideal candidate is data-savvy, understands the digital space, has knowledge of YouTube CMS and key performance metrics, and possesses strong analytical and communication skills.
9 Story is a boutique entertainment firm with a deep knowledge of the kids and family production and distribution business. We are known for our best-in-class kid content across key digital platforms (streaming, YouTube, social, etc.) and linear platforms (Nick, Disney, BBC, CBC, etc.)
This role is an ideal position for someone who loves children’s entertainment; is data savvy; understands the digital space; and wants to help 9 Story carve a new path (learn, inform, take calculated risks, try new approaches)

You will be joining a fast-developing digital discipline at 9 Story, where your remit will include; the optimization of our existing YouTube channels, having a voice into when and how to launch new YouTube channels for new content, keeping the company up to speed on overall digital trends (YT, Social, Distribution) and exploring white-space opportunities/gaps in our strateg

To identify trends, conduct audits and collect insights on competitive brands to inform strategic decision-making through consistent and granular management and synthetization of the Tubular Data Analytics System. This also includes tracking and reporting 9 Story’s digital channels to assess the performance of our own proper
ties.

Key Responsibilities - What you are regularly responsible
for doing:
• Mining and optimizing data dashboards both on Tubular software as well as other social
platforms:• Tailoring and maintaining analytics dashboard to regularly track relevant data to strengthen our YouTub
e portfolio• Identifying competitive sets for major brands to establish benchmarks and evaluate based on key metrics, such as viewership, average view durations, CPMs, geography, demogra
phics, etc.• Standardizing collected data for ease of access by other key s
takeholders• Working with digital team to create and communicate action plans to craft strategies based o
n findings.• Highlighting and reporting overall digital trends to enable key stakeholders’ decis
ion making:• Conducting analyses of audience viewing habits and behavior to inform content production and marketing – what does the organization need to know? What’s changing? What does the future
look like?• Collecting historical YouTube data to understand growth trajectory of key competitors to inform brand building
timelines.• Exploring white-space opportunities/gaps in I
P strategy:• Identifying what have key competitors done
that worked• Providing key data points to inform Franchise in their platform laun
ch strategy• Conducting research in order to evaluate IP for potential acquisitions and/or distribution opp
ortunities.• Parsing through data to create bespoke reports and visualizations wh
