🔥 About the Role

We are hiring a
Backend Engineer
for one of our high-growth AI startup clients building cutting-edge infrastructure for AI systems.

This is a
high-ownership role
where you will design, build, and operate backend systems powering large-scale, production-grade applications.

You won’t just contribute — you’ll
own systems end-to-end
, from design to incident resolution and long-term reliability.

⚙️ What You’ll Do

- Design and ship
scalable REST APIs
(versioning, auth, rate limiting)
- Model data across
relational (Postgres/MySQL)
and
graph databases (Neo4j/Neptune)
- Debug customer issues end-to-end using logs, metrics, and traces
- Optimize performance with
SQL tuning, indexing, caching, partitioning
- Build backend systems using
Python (async frameworks)
- Develop background jobs, queues, and schedulers
- Containerize applications using
Docker
and deploy via
Kubernetes (EKS)
- Work with AWS services:
EC2, RDS/Aurora, S3, IAM
- Implement observability: metrics, logging, tracing
- Collaborate closely with frontend & research teams

✅ Must-Have Requirements

- 3+ years of backend engineering experience shipping APIs to production
- Strong expertise in
Python (async programming required)
- Experience with frameworks like
FastAPI, Django, or Flask
- Solid SQL & data modeling skills with
performance tuning experience
- Hands-on experience with
graph databases (Neo4j or Neptune)
- Experience with
AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Proven ability to
debug production issues and own incidents end-to-end
