Ability Inclusion Services is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and growth-oriented Assistant Program Manager to join their team. This role will take a leadership position in coordinating and overseeing the Summer Youth Program and supporting daily operations of the Day Program. Designed as a developmental leadership role, the position aims for a gradual transition into the Program Manager role. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, lead, and grow within the organization while serving individuals with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities. Core program areas include creative arts, community inclusion, and healthy lifestyles.
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and growth-oriented individual to join our team at Ability Inclusion Services (formerly Work Activity Center) as an Assistant Program Manager. This role will take a leadership position in coordinating and overseeing our Summer Youth Program, while also supporting the current Program Manager in daily operations of our Day Program.
This position is designed as a developmental leadership role, with the intention of a gradual transition into the Program Manager position. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, lead, and grow within the organization while maintaining a strong commitment to serving individuals with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities.
Our programs focus on three core areas: creative arts, community inclusion, and healthy lifestyles.
Duties
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the Summer Youth Program
- Support the Program Manager in daily operations and long-term program development
- Build meaningful relationships with program participants to foster trust and safety
- Help supervise and support program leads and direct support professionals
- Assist with staff onboarding, training, and ongoing development
- Help review, schedule, and approve activities and programming
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for care teams and families
- Assist with transportation coverage as needed (including driving agency vehicles)
- Participate in and help facilitate team meetings
- Review program documentation and attendance records for accuracy
- Support management of client activity funds
- Take on special projects and increasing leadership responsibilities as part of role transition

Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership potential or prior supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Compassionate, patient, and professional demeanor
- Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and empathy
- Willingness to learn, grow, and transition into a leadership role
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Valid Utah driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to drive up to a StarCraft Coach (small bus)
- Ability to pass a background check
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Stable work history with strong attendance and dependability
- Must be in good physical condition: able to stand for long periods, kneel, bend, and lift/carry at least 50 pounds
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
