Role summary

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Database Administrator in San Antonio, TX, to manage and optimize relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB. The role involves designing schemas, tuning queries, implementing data security protocols (Kerberos, TLS), establishing backup and disaster recovery strategies, and ensuring operational excellence. The position requires 3 years of experience with distributed data systems and large-scale storage technologies, experience with Accumulo, and DoD 8140 compliance. A TS/SCI clearance is mandatory. Preferred qualifications include experience with data migration, consolidation projects, platform reliability, and operational best practices.

Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Database Administrator to join our team and support our client in San Antonio, TX.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and optimize both relational and NoSQL databases, ensuring high performance and reliability across platforms such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
  • Design robust schemas, tune queries, and implement best practices for data storage and retrieval
  • Modernize and consolidate complex data architectures
  • Lead initiatives to migrate data models and streamline storage solutions
  • Safeguard the integrity and security of data platforms by implementing advanced security protocols, including Kerberos authentication, TLS encryption, and role-based access controls
  • Establish comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies, as well as ensure observability and operational excellence across all database systems
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and proactively optimize systems for maximum uptime and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align database solutions with organizational objectives and technical requirements

    • What you’ll need:

  • 3 years of experience working with distributed data systems and large-scale storage technologies
  • Experience with Accumulo
  • DoD 8140 compliance (e.g. Security+, CISSP, CASP, etc.) or ability to obtain within 6 months

    • Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with distributed systems architecture, data migration, and consolidation projects
  • Understanding of platform reliability and operational best practices

    • Clearance:

    Must have an active TS/SCI level clearance

    As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
