Role summary

AchievaFlow is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the core of their AI-powered platform focused on managing focus, overwhelm, and execution, with a particular emphasis on neurodivergent users. This is a remote, volunteer role with a clear path to equity, requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week. The engineer will be responsible for foundational decisions in backend architecture, API design (Python/FastAPI), data modeling (PostgreSQL), and early AI integrations. The role emphasizes system design and ownership over task execution, working directly with the founder and CTO to shape the platform from its inception.

The role

We’re looking for a
Senior Backend Engineer
to help shape the core of the platform.

This is not a task-execution role. You’ll be making
foundational decisions
on how the system is designed and evolves.

You’ll work directly with the founder and CTO.

What you’ll own

  • Backend architecture and API design (Python + FastAPI)
  • Data modeling and system structure (PostgreSQL)
  • Early AI-driven workflows (LLM integrations, simple pipelines)
  • Technical direction for scalability and maintainability

What we’re looking for

  • Strong backend experience (Python or similar)
  • Proven ability to design systems, not just implement features
  • Comfort making decisions with incomplete information
  • High ownership mindset — you build, decide, and iterate

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI/LLM-based features
  • Early-stage or startup experience
  • Interest in productivity, behavior, or mental wellness
