*The Manufacturing/Test Engineer helps ensure every Acromag product ships with confidence by building reliable, efficient manufacturing tests and fixtures. In this hands-on role, you’ll partner closely with Engineering and Production to improve test coverage, reduce manual steps through automation, and solve real-world problems on the bench and on the production floor.*
*What success looks like (first 90 days):* *Learn our products and existing production test set-ups, deliver at least one fixture or test improvement into production, and help standardize documentation/training so operators can run tests consistently.*
Duties/Responsibilities:
*You’ll work with:* *Test Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Quality, and Production to keep tests robust, repeatable, and easy to run.*
· *Design and improve manufacturing test fixtures for our process and embedded products.*
· *Develop and expand automated test solutions to improve throughput, repeatability, and quality (from concept to deployment, with team support).*
· *Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical test issues and collaborate with Engineering/Production to drive root-cause fixes.*
· *Create and maintain clear production test procedures and supporting documentation.*
· *Train and support operators on new/updated fixtures and test procedures to ensure smooth adoption.*
· *Support cost estimates and justification for test-related tools/equipment as needed.*
Skills/Abilities:
- *Experience with PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer) or the ability to ramp up quickly.*
- *Programming experience in one or more of C/C++/C# (used to build and maintain test applications/tools).*
- *Hands-on experience with electronics test and measurement fundamentals (e.g., using meters/scopes, basic debugging, interpreting schematics).*
- *3D CAD experience for product, tooling, or fixture design.*
Preferred (nice to have):
- *Experience with data acquisition, DAC/ADC concepts, and automated measurement workflows.*
- *Strong problem-solving skills and curiosity when troubleshooting.*
- *Clear written and verbal communication skills (you’ll write procedures and collaborate cross-functionally).*
- *Comfort working within defined processes (and helping improve them when needed).*
- *Self-directed and collaborative—comfortable asking questions and sharing what you learn.*
Education and Experience:
- *2+ years of relevant experience in test, manufacturing engineering, or related hands-on engineering work (internships/co-ops count).*
- *Comfortable working around electronics (reading schematics, basic lab equipment, debugging circuits).*
- *Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).*
Physical Work Environment:
*Lab bench primarily. Some time on the production floor line.*
*Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.*
*Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.*
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
*The work schedule consists of a five-day, 40-hour work week.*
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
