Education Required
B.Sc. or Diploma in Chemistry

- High performance individual who can meet timelines
- Proven time management skills, attention to detail and motivated
- Ability to perform under pressure during high work volume to achieve turnaround requirement
- Exhibit strong organizational and prioritizing skills
- Problem solver and analytical thinker
- Ability to give suggestion and act on the next plausible step when problems arise
- Strong computer skills, must be well versed in excel
- Candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work well independently and with others
- Knowledge of good laboratory practices
- Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety and Professional Conduct Policies
Responsibilities
The candidate will be working with spread sheets, processing and reporting chemical data derived from the ICP or ICP-MS instrumentation. The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated individual with strong excel skills that would enjoy the opportunity to work in a team-oriented, scientifically challenging work environment.
- Review of analytical data for acceptance, including, but not limited to: acceptable certified reference material recovery; acceptable method blank results; acceptable duplicate and control charting results; identification of issues in analytical data
- Control charting according to QCP Chart
- Control Charting and Range Ratio quality control checks
- Data comparison for samples with multiple analyses being performed
- Review and ensure all accepted data is produced is valid and reliable
- Generate and import analytical reports into the Support system
- Import and approve LIMS data
- Root cause investigation and help put in place CAPA for Quality failures (includes NCR/customer complaints, redo’s).
- Assist in ensuring turnaround time meets clients and company requirements by working overtime when required
- Maintenance of logs (including quality failure logs)
- Provide training to other analysts
- Compliance with ALL safety procedures including MSDS review for all chemicals used
- Other tasks as determined by Data Manager/Lab Manager/Process Owner as appropriate for someone in this role

Day shift, full time, overtime and or/week-end may be required
