IT Software Engineer

Payrate:

$41.00 - $42.00/hr.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:

• AKA SDET Extend testing automation framework using JAVA/JAVA Script
• Gathering business/technical requirements from the stakeholders/business features/design pages then transform it to the technical requirements/acceptance criteria/ test scenarios for QE teams
• Review and understanding business requirements in terms of WHAT NEEDS to be done
• Review and understand work breakdown which is indicated for all web services, endpoints, fields, or data flow changes in terms of HOW this will be done and WHERE
• Make an analysis of existing behavior and changes, come up with the questions, so that, after providing answers, it’s clear to everyone
• Collaboration with all the teams involved in the development process - Business PO/Architect/Dev leads etc.

Typical task breakdown:

• Review business features and requirements
• Participation on the design calls
• Review design pages with diagrams and data flow
• Come up with test requirements(100% positive/negative and some edge cases/scenarios) for QE team
• Multiple calls to review your Acceptance Criteria Q&A sessions, support the team providing necessary info,
• Present Test Coverage to the stakeholders.

Education & Experience Required:

• Years of experience: minimum 2 year experience
• Degree requirement: Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of SDLC and experience with BDD testing frameworks
• QE experience in past  (Java/Rest Assured/Selenium/Playwright)
• Strong experience in testing Webservices (REST APIs)
• Good understanding of Integration pain points and data flow at system level
• The ability to write queries in SQL or other relational databases
• Should have a good experience in Automation testing of backend and frontend
• Should be proactive rather than reactive
• Should provide well detailed requirements with possible UML/sequence diagrams/ACs/examples/services/endpoints
• Make sure that tests developed by QE team are aligned with what you provided in your ACs
• Come up with gap analysis and questions in case something is not considered in the business feature or in the design
• Know how to use AI tools to speed up the process with test coverage preps
• Control quality of test coverage
• Development experience in AWS Cloud technology
• Experience in TDD, continuous integration, code review practice is strongly desired
• Experience with Apigee or other API gateways is a plus
• Experience with DevOps concepts and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Jenkins, Git)
• At least 2 years working on an Agile team with a solid understanding of Agile/Lean practices.
• Understanding of a micro service Architecture
• Experience load and performance testing
• Strong documentation skills

Pay Transparency:
*The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is:
$41.00 - $42.00/hr.
Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience and the benefits package you select.  Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.  Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, 10 paid days off, 401(k) plan participation, commuter benefits and life and disability insurance.*
