Security Analyst III
Role summary
BNY is seeking a Security Analyst III in Pittsburgh, PA for a 6+ month hybrid contract role. The analyst will analyze complex data to provide insights, identify security risks, and recommend mitigation strategies. Responsibilities include supporting and improving security infrastructure, providing guidance on security practices, and collaborating with information security and other departments. The role requires strong GRC, information security, data analysis (SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Excel), database design, and SDLC knowledge. Preferred qualifications include experience in financial services and knowledge of IAM, cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO), and ServiceNow.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex data and provide insights, conclusions, and recommendations
- Suggest actions to reduce security risks and ensure proper standards are followed
- Escalate high-risk issues and support risk mitigation efforts
- Identify operational issues and ensure timely resolution
- Collaborate with information security teams and other departments
- Support and improve the company’s security infrastructure
- Provide guidance on reports, analysis, and security practices
- Contribute to team and organizational goals
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in
GRC (Governance, Risk, Compliance)
and information security
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills using tools like:
- SQL, DB2
- Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Business Objects
- Excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of database design (logical & physical)
- Understanding of
SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication (written & verbal)
- Ability to work independently and in a team
Preferred
- Experience in financial services or securities industry
- Advanced degree (nice to have)
Additional Skills
- Understanding of
Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, etc.)
- Experience with tools like
ServiceNow
and MS Office
- Strong focus on improving security controls and cyber hygiene
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
