Role summary

Safran Electrical & Power is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support their US platform, focusing on mission-critical workloads. This role involves empowering application teams with containerization and cloud-native architectures, managing Red Hat OpenShift clusters, and deploying shared services like HashiCorp Vault and Gitlab. Responsibilities include managing application lifecycles across virtual and containerized environments, deploying infrastructure on AWS using Terraform and Ansible, and maintaining documentation. The engineer will also provide Tier 3 support, lead upgrades, implement monitoring strategies with Prometheus/Grafana, and contribute to DevOps standards. This hybrid role requires 2-3 years of experience in Kubernetes/OpenShift administration and cloud deployments.

As a DevOps Engineer supporting SHM, you'll contribute to meaningful projects that shape the future of aerospace. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position contributes to our vision by: • We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in Kubernetes or OpenShift to help us build the future of our US platform supporting mission critical workloads. • Working closely with our US IT team and the DevOps core team in France, you will empower application teams to transition towards containerization and cloud-native architectures. • Platform Engineering & Implementation • Cluster management: take ownership of the administration and day-to-day operations of our US Red Hat OpenShift cluster. • Tooling Ecosystem: deploy and support critical shared services, including HashiCorp Vault and Gitlab. • Hybrid Deployment: manage application lifecycles across both virtual servers (Linux/Windows) and containerized environments (OpenShift). • Infrastructure As Code and Cloud: deploy applications on AWS services using Terraform and Ansible to ensure repeatable and scalable infrastructure. • Documentation: maintain high standards by writing SOPs, Runbook and conducting Root Cause Analysis for incidents. • Technical Support & Governance: • Troubleshooting: act as Tier 3 support for complex deployment issues, ensuring optimal system performance. • Lifecycle Management: lead upgrades and changes following our global change management procedures based on ITIL. • Observability: define and implement monitoring strategies (Prometheus/Grafana) to ensure the health of critical components. • Standardization: contributes to definition and evolution of our DevOps standards and ensure global governance is applied locally. Education and Experience • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (preferred). • Experience: 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes/OpenShift administration and cloud deployments. Technical skills • Containers & CI/CD • Kubernetes/OpenShift Administration: Proficient - Solid field experience required. • CI/CD Pipelines (Gitlab or similar): Proficient – Ability to build and debug pipelines. • Helm: Proficient – Comfortable with templating and debugging charts. • Cloud and automation • Cloud (AWS or similar): Foundational. • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform & Ansible): Foundational – Basic experience in automating deployments. • OS Administration (Linux & Windows): Proficient – Comfortable with installation and troubleshooting on both OS.
