About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions primarily in AWS and Azure environments. You will leverage your extensive experience in infrastructure design and hands-on cloud provisioning to translate complex business requirements into effective reference architectures, automation patterns, and best practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead cloud modernization initiatives, develop infrastructure as code, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, networking, platform engineering, and application development. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud platforms, ensuring they are cost-effective, compliant, and highly available, while also mentoring engineers and promoting best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure or solutions architecture, including on-premises networking, virtualization, and systems design.
- At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud architecture, provisioning, and management, including landing zones, VPC/VNet, IAM/AAD, storage, compute, and PaaS solutions.
- Proficiency in Terraform, including module development, workspaces, remote state management, registries, and policy-as-code frameworks such as OPA or Sentinel.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts such as CIDR, routing, VPN/ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, NAT, firewalls, DNS, and private link/endpoints.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure as code and application platforms using tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Security-first mindset with expertise in identity management, least privilege principles, key management, encryption, secrets management, and compliance standards like CIS, NIST, and ISO.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry, along with incident response and SRE fundamentals.
- Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to produce architecture decision records, high-level and low-level design documents, and effective presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Design and create target state architectures, solution diagrams, and strategic roadmaps for cloud-native and hybrid workloads encompassing networking, compute, storage, identity, data, and edge services.
- Lead the development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules, standards, and reusable patterns, and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate cloud provisioning and deployment processes.
- Build and automate cloud landing zones, VPC/VNet topologies, subnet configurations, routing, firewalls, private endpoints, and service integrations within AWS and Azure environments.
- Embed security controls such as IAM, ABAC, RBAC, secrets management, and encryption, ensuring alignment with frameworks like CIS and NIST, and collaborate with governance, risk, and compliance teams.
- Architect for high availability, disaster recovery, multi-AZ/multi-region deployments, and implement observability solutions to monitor system performance, logs, and traces.
- Drive cost optimization strategies by right-sizing resources, leveraging savings plans, implementing tagging policies, and managing showback/chargeback models.
- Provide technical leadership through the creation of reference architectures, standards, and design reviews, and mentor engineering teams to foster best practices and continuous improvement.
- Lead workload discovery, assessment, migration, and modernization efforts, including rehosting and refactoring applications into cloud landing zones.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical architectures, produce comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and executive-level diagrams to facilitate stakeholder understanding and decision-making.
- Contribute to platform engineering capabilities by developing golden images, service catalogs, self-service portals, and policy-as-code initiatives to enhance platform automation and governance.

This contract position offers a competitive pay range of $65.00 to $75.00 per hour, with eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package.
