About The Role

Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Responsibilities
The Property Accountant will be responsible for a broad range of accounting functions, including but not limited to:

  • Managing all accounting activities for a portfolio of multifamily and mixed-use properties, ensuring financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to provide clear insights into property performance.
  • Conducting regular audits to verify compliance with financial regulations and internal standards.
  • Utilizing Yardi or MRI software to automate processes, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Collaborating closely with property managers and other team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Assisting in budget development, financial forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Reconciling bank statements, maintaining general ledger accuracy, and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Coordinating with external auditors, preparing necessary documentation, and managing tax filings for properties.
  • Staying informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and competitiveness.
  • Providing financial insights and strategic advice to management to support operational and investment decisions.
