About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Node.js Developer to join our dynamic team at Cognizant. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend services that support our web applications. Your primary focus will be on building scalable APIs, integrating various systems within an Azure cloud environment, and ensuring seamless data flow across platforms. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects that require a deep understanding of backend development, cloud architecture, and modern API protocols. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Node.js frameworks, RESTful and GraphQL API design, and proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
Qualifications

• 7-8 years of professional experience in IT, with a strong emphasis on backend development.
• Proficiency in Node.js frameworks such as Express.js, Koa, or similar.
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, MongoDB, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience working within an Azure cloud environment, including deployment and integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts effectively.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs to support web applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, cloud engineers, and product managers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Implement and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring high performance and security standards.
• Work within the Azure environment to deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot backend services.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and ensure code quality and maintainability.
• Assist in database design, optimization, and management for both SQL and NoSQL systems.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into development workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
