About The Role
The Cyber Security Analyst at DiversityJobs plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s information assets and supporting our security posture. This position involves monitoring, investigating, and responding to security incidents, as well as maintaining and updating security policies and standards. The analyst will work closely with IT teams and other stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, recommend and implement mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with industry regulations such as PCI, GLBA, and HIPAA. This role requires a proactive approach to cybersecurity, staying current with evolving threats and technologies, and fostering a security-aware culture within the organization. The Cyber Security Analyst will also contribute to risk assessments, security audits, and the integration of regulatory requirements into the company’s security framework, ensuring the organization remains resilient against cyber threats.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems security. Relevant security certifications such as Security+, Azure Fundamentals, or Network+ are highly preferred. Candidates should have 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with a broader background of 5+ years in IT. Experience working within regulated environments, including compliance with standards like SOX, HIPAA, GLBA, or PCI, is essential. Familiarity with various cybersecurity tools, network protocols, and security architectures is required. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities

  • Monitor, triage, investigate, and resolve security alerts, support tickets, and incidents, including containment, root cause analysis, and preventive measures.
  • Identify security risks, recommend remediation strategies, and support ongoing risk assessments and system testing efforts.
  • Apply and enforce information security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the integration of compliance and audit requirements into the security roadmap, ensuring systems meet all regulatory obligations.
  • Collaborate with IT operations teams to ensure servers, network devices, and security controls function as intended and meet security standards.
  • Evaluate, implement, and perform compliance assessments on application and system changes, adhering to change control processes.
  • Conduct periodic internal security audits covering system access controls, firewall policies, DLP controls, and other security measures.
  • Stay current with emerging security technologies and maintain relevant industry certifications.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to address security incidents outside of regular working hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization’s cybersecurity initiatives.
