About The Role

Qualifications
Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of six years of hands-on experience in native Android application development is required, along with substantial expertise in application architecture and data design. Proficiency in Kotlin is essential, with at least four years of experience using the language in production environments. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience mentoring junior team members and providing guidance to stakeholders on technical matters. A strong understanding of modern development practices, including agile methodologies, is also necessary. Preferred qualifications include over eight years of full software development lifecycle experience, familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, and a background in open-source frameworks and microservices architecture.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the development of iOS features, leveraging SwiftUI and reactive programming paradigms, to meet Capital One Travel objectives while following best practices and design standards.
- Collaborate with fellow software engineers, UX/UI teams, and product owners to deliver high-quality, engaging, and purposeful user experiences.
- Participate actively in all agile ceremonies, ensuring timely delivery of commitments and maintaining high standards of code quality.
- Advocate for mobile platform excellence through engagement with internal and external developer communities.
- Stay current with the latest mobile development technologies, including Swift, Kotlin, third-party libraries, and emerging trends.
- Contribute to group discussions, influence technical decisions, and incorporate feedback effectively.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Engage with developers across disciplines such as Android, iOS, APIs, and Web to ensure cohesive platform development.
- Lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects.
- Share best practices, improve development processes, and streamline workflows within and across teams.
- Identify technical challenges early, propose creative solutions, and oversee their implementation.
- Review pull requests to ensure adherence to coding standards, language idioms, and best practices.
