🟣In this role, you’ll:

  • Diagnose and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal disruption to users
  • Strengthen and maintain core business logic across the platform
  • Support integrations and background processing workflows
  • Improve system reliability and maintainability through pragmatic refactoring and incremental modernisation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Delivery & System Stability (50%)
  • Maintain and enhance features across frontend and backend systems
  • Own services from development through to production support
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in live environments
  • Improve code quality and system reliability through ongoing refactoring
  • Service & Support (25%)

  • Monitor system performance and respond to incidents
  • Improve logging, observability, and error handling
  • Identify root causes and implement long-term fixes to reduce recurring issues
  • Collaboration & Communication (25%)
  • Communicate progress, risks, and blockers clearly within the team
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
  • Collaborate effectively in a remote-first environment
  • Document technical decisions and share knowledge across the team

🟣What you’ll bring:

Experience & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Proven experience working with production systems in complex environments
  • Experience contributing within small, high-performing teams

Technical Skills (Essential)

  • Strong experience with Angular in production, including legacy systems
  • Solid experience with RxJS for state management
  • Proficiency in Python, particularly with Flask

  • Familiarity with background processing (e.g. Celery, Redis, or similar)
  • Experience working with AWS (EC2, databases, CloudWatch or similar tools)

Technical Skills (Preferred)

  • Experience with Celery and Redis
  • Broader AWS experience (e.g. RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, monitoring tools)
  • Experience modernising or refactoring legacy systems
  • Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks (e.g. Jest)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
  • Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, and operational tooling
  • Experience improving system performance, scalability, or reliability
