Join a high-impact cloud infrastructure team designing and deploying large-scale Terraform-based environments to support enterprise SAP products and services. This hybrid contract role is based in Austin, TX and offers deep technical challenges across multi-cloud platforms with potential conversion to full-time employment after six months.
You'll serve as a senior IaC and DevOps expert for an automation-first organization that deploys all cloud resources via code. From Terraform module development and CI/CD pipeline design to Ansible configuration management and Kubernetes workloads, you'll own the full infrastructure delivery lifecycle across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.

What You'll Do
Infrastructure as Code & Terraform
- Design, build, and maintain large-scale IaC solutions using Terraform across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and manage state, remote backends, and workspace strategies
- Translate complex infrastructure requirements into well-scoped technical plans and actionable work items
Automation & CI/CD
- Develop and maintain automation workflows leveraging scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and similar tooling across multiple repositories
- Execute and develop Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management and maintenance automation
- Write Python and/or Bash scripts to streamline infrastructure delivery and operations
Cloud & Container Operations
- Deploy and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP at scale
- Deploy and manage containerized services using Docker and/or Kubernetes
- Implement monitoring, logging, and configuration management capabilities across multi-tenant, multi-cloud environments
Project Leadership & Documentation
- Lead and coordinate complex infrastructure projects from requirements gathering through delivery
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, runbooks, knowledge base articles, and technical documentation
- Collaborate closely with internal product teams to define requirements and deliver scalable, repeatable IaC solutions
- Leverage generative AI tools to increase engineering efficiency, improve accuracy, and enhance security posture
- Operate with a security-first mindset across all responsibilities
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of cloud infrastructure, automation, or DevOps engineering experience
- 5+ years of hands-on Terraform experience building production-grade infrastructure at scale
- Strong IaC design including Terraform modules, state management, remote backends, and workspace strategies
- Experience deploying and managing infrastructure in AWS, Azure, or GCP at scale
- Proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting for automation
- Configuration management experience with Ansible or equivalent tools
- Experience designing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, ConcourseCI, or similar)
- Strong Linux administration skills: deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, subnetting, and cloud connectivity
- Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes container environments
- Experience with RBAC and SSO for identity and access management
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault or similar secrets management solutions
- Hands-on experience using generative AI tools to improve engineering workflows
- Experience designing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
- Experience working in government or regulated environments
- HashiCorp Terraform or cloud platform certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with ServiceNow or ITIL-based ticketing workflows
- Strong written and verbal technical communication skills

- Must be able to work hybrid onsite in Austin, TX (3 days per week)
- 5+ years of DevOps or cloud infrastructure automation experience
