Staff Software Engineer, Android Platform Frameworks
Role summary
Airbnb is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for its Android Platform team. This role focuses on designing and evolving foundational Android frameworks, including Trio (screen architecture), dependency injection, and navigation, to enhance developer productivity and app quality at scale. The ideal candidate will have 9+ years of experience building Android apps with Kotlin, deep expertise in shared framework design, and 2+ years of experience with Jetpack Compose. Experience with dependency injection systems like Dagger or Hilt, and API design for usability and maintainability, is crucial. You'll shape how Android apps are built at Airbnb by working on our screen architecture framework (Trio), dependency injection system, navigation, and testability infrastructure. This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
