
Mobile Product Owner (Health & Wellness)
Role summary
A high-growth digital fitness and wellness platform is seeking a Mobile Product Owner for a contract-to-hire role, with potential for direct hire. The company offers a subscription-based app combining workouts, macro tracking, and coaching, targeting women focused on sustainable weight loss. The goal is to elevate the current mobile app into a polished, modern consumer experience. The Product Owner will own the mobile app roadmap, manage agile processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and define product metrics. This role requires 5+ years of mobile product management experience in consumer subscription apps and strong Agile/Scrum expertise, with extensive Jira usage.

~12 full-time engineers + product/design + nearshore dev partners
Compensation:

$80–85/hr pay + Benefits
- Full-time conversion Salary:
$130K–$175K base

High-growth digital fitness & wellness platform (~$100M annual revenue). Subscription-based app combining workouts, macro tracking, intermittent fasting, and certified coaching. Core demographic: postpartum to middle-aged women focused on sustainable weight loss.
Goal: elevate a functional mobile app into a polished, modern consumer experience comparable to Noom, Centr, Peloton, and Future.
Must-Haves
- 5–8+ yrs
mobile
product management experience
- Experience in consumer subscription apps (fitness, health, lifestyle, or streaming content is the best)
- Agile / Scrum expertise (They WILL be acting as a partial scrum master)
- Excellent communication and prioritization skills; hands-on operator comfortable in

- Formal Scrum Master Experience
- Experience managing offshore or agency engineering partners

- Familiarity with product analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA4, etc.)
First 90-Day Expectations
30 days:
Learn tech stack, workflows, and app performance; assess gaps and quick wins.
60 days:
Lead backlog + agile process; align roadmap with key business KPIs.
90 days:
Own a defined vertical (ex: nutrition tracking, content library); deliver 6-9 month roadmap with measurable outcomes.
Interview Process

This is a pivotal opportunity to take an already successful product and elevate it into a world-class mobile experience. You’ll work directly with engineering, design, and marketing teams to shape product vision, improve UX/UI, and deliver high-impact releases that drive engagement, retention, and growth.
What You’ll Do
- Own the mobile app product roadmap, from ideation to launch to optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, and content) to define and prioritize features.
- Manage agile processes, backlog, and sprint execution with internal and agency engineering partners.
- Lead discovery and research efforts to deeply understand user needs and market trends.
- Define and track product metrics (activation, retention, LTV, churn) to guide decision-making.
- Partner with marketing and design on experiments that improve onboarding and in-app engagement.
- Communicate product strategy and progress clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in
mobile product management
within a consumer-facing environment.
- Proven success driving engagement and retention for
subscription or membership-based apps

- Deep understanding of agile product development; able to bridge business, design, and engineering.
- Strong UX sensibility with a data-driven mindset.
- Experience with analytics and experimentation tools (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA4, Optimizely).
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, growth-stage settings and make high-quality decisions with limited structure.
Preferred Experience
- Background in fitness, health, wellness, nutrition, or lifestyle tech.
- Exposure to streaming content platforms or community-driven digital products.
- Familiarity with remote or nearshore engineering models.
