Role summary

Amazon's North America Stores GenAI Evaluation Media (GEM) team is seeking a Senior Product Manager - Technical to define the future of visual shopping experiences using Generative AI. This role involves shaping CXs and foundational capabilities for high-quality GenAI imagery and videos. The ideal candidate will possess strong business and technical acumen, the ability to translate complex customer needs into product strategy and roadmaps, and a passion for data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities include defining product vision, influencing stakeholders, partnering with engineering and design teams, and managing prioritization for feature delivery at scale. Experience with technical product management and contributing to engineering discussions is essential.

The North America Stores GenAI Evaluation Media (GEM) team is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager - Technical to help shape the future of visual shopping experiences. We're building CXs and foundational capabilities to understand, enhance, and generate high-quality GenAI imagery, videos, and CXs that inspire customers and drive purchase confidence, towards our vision to be the leader in visual media and tools. We are looking for builders and disruptors who are not afraid to innovate for customers, business and technical acumen, exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for GenAI technologies.
To succeed in this role, you need to be a self-starter who enjoys bringing clarity, simplicity, and direction to highly ambiguous challenges. You enjoy building partnerships and alignment with peers and senior leaders. You dive deeply into data and openly welcome debate to form high-judgement views. You know when to go slow because you need to learn more and build trust, and when to move fast to bring decisions to a close. Once a direction has been set, you guide and influence on executing with speed and rigor in designing experiments, building with applied scientists and engineers, analyzing results, and flexibly iterating towards success to better serve the overall vision.

We Work Backwards From The Needs Of Customers To Bring Structure To Ambiguous Problems. As a Senior Product Manager Technical On This Team, You Will

  • Define the vision for your product space and outline a roadmap that has the potential to significantly impact Amazon’s business and customer experience.
  • Gain support for your strategy and roadmap from stakeholders by writing narratives and influencing senior leadership, peers and partner teams.
  • Partner with scientists, engineers and UX designers to translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables, including the design, development, testing, and deployment of customer-facing experiences at scale.
  • Drive data-informed decisions through customer research, behavior analysis, and performance metrics
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs for speed to market, performance, and features.
  • Stay abreast with industry trends and GenAI offerings

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
