Role summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Tech Infra Program Manager II in Arlington, VA. This role involves providing technical leadership for large-scale critical mission services or infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include managing capital projects, creating schedules, risk and stakeholder plans, and overseeing scope, integration, and procurement. The manager will lead design, planning, scheduling, and risk management efforts, monitor project schedules and quality, and develop/manage budgets and contract documents. Experience with process improvement methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen is required, along with proficiency in MS Project, MS Office, and MS SharePoint. The position requires 3 years of experience in core project management disciplines.

Multiple Positions Available

  • Provide technical leadership for large-scale critical mission services or infrastructure projects using tools such as MS Excel, MS Project, MSWord, Outlook, Slack and Chime.
  • Manage capital projects, and create project schedules, project risk and stakeholder plans, integration management and procurement management.
  • Project Scope Management/Technical Solutions: plan scope, develop requirements, develop WBS, maintain and control scope.
  • Lead and coordinate design, planning, scheduling and risk management efforts between internal teams to develop optimal solutions for critical mission services or infrastructure build implementations, including network, equipment and related specifications, site design and layout, construction, power and utilities.
  • Monitor and enforce project schedules and quality through Developing Activities, Sequencing Activities, Estimating Durations and Controlling Schedule.
  • Develop and manage budget and contract documents including Requests for Proposals, change order controls, purchase orders, invoicing and implementing cost controls.
  • Use Process Improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and/or Kaizen to analyze build processes and recommend, design, manage and implement improvements to procedures, processes, systems and standards.
  • Leading stakeholder teams and peers to deliver mission critical services and infrastructure.
  • Domestic travel up to 10% to perform role responsibilities may be required.

(40 hours/week, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Salary Range $127,100- $171,900/year)

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field followed by 3 years of experience in engineering, or product/program management related occupation.
Experience Must Include

  • 3 years of project management experience;
  • 3 years of experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management;
  • 3 years of experience in analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations; and
  • 3 years of experience with MS Project, MS Office, and MS SharePoint.
