Sr. Technical Program Manager, Amazon Leo Country Expansion
Role summary
Amazon LEO is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to drive the global expansion of its satellite broadband initiative. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, business, legal, and go-to-market to develop and execute project plans for new geographies. The TPM will be responsible for driving engineering project execution, making technical trade-off recommendations, tracking launch status, and resolving blockers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical program management, working with engineering teams, and managing complex, cross-functional programs with a focus on global expansion and process development.

Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
The Amazon LEO team is looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager with experience in driving Global expansion of products/business units. The role will interface with cross-functional product, business, and engineering teams to develop robust solution to expand to new geographies that will go into Satellites and Ground equipment/terminals. Key job responsibilities
In This Role You Will
- Collaborate with engineering leaders both within Leo and broader Amazon to create project execution plans for international expansion.
- Work with business, legal, accounting, and go-to-market teams to develop clear test and readiness criteria and plans.
- Work with engineering and product/program management to track and report out launch status.
- Drive engineering project execution, make technical trade-off recommendations, understand the technical challenges, enable solutions, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues.
- Own visibility into launch status by proactively communicating progress, risks, and blockers to key stakeholders and leadership.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
