Role summary
The Central Learning Solutions - Technology team is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain state-of-the-art AI solutions for leadership and associate development. This role involves creating a single source of truth through data lakes and warehouses, ensuring data quality, and developing robust data pipelines. You will collaborate with Data Science, BI, and SDE teams, working in sprints to deliver reliable data infrastructure. Responsibilities include managing data lakes, producing automation tools, and contributing to roadmaps, all while ensuring data requirements are met within a single source of truth architecture. The team focuses on enhancing learning outcomes and driving productivity through AI-driven insights.
## DESCRIPTION
The Central Learning Solutions - Technology team builds state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions for enhancing leadership and associate development within the organization. We develop products and mechanisms for measuring the impact of learning programs, improving the training content and recommending the personalized learning courses based on the post-training performance curves for different learner profiles.
Key job responsibilities
As a Data Enablement team within Central Learning Solutions, our key responsibilities encompass creating a single source of truth for both structured and unstructured data. This includes building comprehensive data lakes and data warehouses that enable science and AI applications to consume reliable data.
Our core focus areas include:
Data Infrastructure: Maintaining robust pipelines and frameworks that ensure validated, true-source data with end-to-end documentation and tracking
Self-Service Analytics: Producing proactive insights and vending actionable outcomes to customers
Data Quality: Implementing validation mechanisms at each infrastructure layer to ensure trustable business insights
The Data Engineering team consists of four engineers working collaboratively to deliver highly reliable data infrastructure. We enable data access from multiple sources with real-time to near real-time ingestion, integrating learning data across systems to create a central repository for all LMS data, Kirkpatrick metrics, and L4 quality metrics.
This role involves working alongside three other engineers to build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers analytical consumption for Data Science teams, BI teams, SDE teams, and external line of business partners.
A day in the life
You'll independently work on user stories while coordinating with Software Development Engineering and Data Science teams on workflows, design, and data layer patterns. Collaborating with TPMs and Product Managers, you'll ensure data requirements are met while working within the single source of truth architecture.
Your responsibilities include maintaining data lakes, producing automation and orchestration tools, and contributing to build and launch exercises. Operating in sprints, you'll independently lead your assigned area, work on roadmaps, and cross-collaborate outside CLS Analytics teams to drive data engineering products and maintain infrastructure.

## BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of data engineering experience
- 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using ETL/ELT processes experience
- 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using OLAP technologies experience
- 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using data modeling experience
- 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using SQL experience
- 1+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics using Oracle experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
## PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
- Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
