Senior Data Analyst
Role summary
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing results, identifying trends, and surfacing insights related to business performance, risk, and operational efficiency. This role involves developing clear data narratives to explain findings and recommend actions, presenting them to both operational leaders and executive audiences. Key responsibilities include serving as a primary intake point for reporting and analytics requests, designing and delivering analytics solutions using tools like Alteryx, Tableau, or Power BI, and translating complex business questions into analytical approaches. The analyst will ensure accuracy, repeatability, and documentation of analytics, collaborate with data engineering and governance teams, and contribute to data standards and best practices within the Bank's Data Center of Excellence. Expertise in the Bank's data stores and semantic layers is crucial, along with reinforcing data governance expectations.
The Senior Data Analyst goes beyond data extraction analyzing results, identifying trends, ad surface insights relevant to business performance, risk, and operational efficiency while developing clear, compelling data narrative that explain what happened, the why, and what actions should be considered. Present findings to stakeholders in a manner appropriate for both operational leaders and executive audiences.
- Serve as a primary intake point for enterprise reporting and analytics requests, partnering with stakeholders to clarify objectives, refine requirements, and prioritize work.
- Design, develop, and deliver analytics solutions using approved Bank tools including Alteryx (advanced analytics (AI), data preparation, and modeling), Tableau or Power BI (enterprise dashboards ad visual storytelling), and other approved analytics or data tools as required
- Translate complex business questions into analytically sound approaches that leverage governed enterprise data resources
- Ensure delivered analytics are accurate, repeatable well-documented, and aligned with enterprise data standards
- Collaborate with Data Engineering, QA, Governance, Product ad customers to improve data infrastructure
- Actively participate in the Bank's Data Center of Excellence, contributing to analytics standards and best practices, document reporting and analytics development code in a shared repository for reuse and knowledge sharing across authorized users
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on the Bank's data stores, semantic layers, and reporting datasets
- Help define and reinforce governance expectations related to data usage, security, lineage, and quality within analytics solutions
Qualifications:
- 5-8+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data analysis roles. Knowledge of cloud date platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift etc.) Understanding of statistical methods and A/B testing. Demonstrated ability delivering analytics in a regulated environmental (financial services strongly preferred). Alteryx or similar advanced platform (advanced analytics; Alteryx Auto Insights & Alteryx Machine Learning experience strongly preferred)
