Budget Analyst
Role summary
AnaVation is seeking a Budget Analyst for a client in Washington DC to manage Federal budgeting and budget execution for cybersecurity services. Responsibilities include tracking budget execution, performing cost-benefit analyses, making cost savings recommendations, monitoring agreements and invoicing, developing procurement requests, briefing executives, and managing vendor costs. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, minimum five years of experience as a Budget or Financial Analyst, including one year managing Federal government budgets and one year developing cost models for shared services. Expert Excel skills and an active Top Secret clearance are mandatory. The role is currently remote but may require onsite work in Washington DC.
Description of Task to be Performed:
AnaVation is seeking a Budget Analyst to support a key client in Washington DC. This individual must have experience managing Federal budgeting and budget execution activities and be comfortable briefing up to the CIO/CISO level.
What you will be doing
- Track budget execution for multiple CIO-level cybersecurity services; produce metrics, perform cost/benefit analyses, and make cost savings recommendations.
- Monitor and track reimbursable agreements, interagency agreements, and related invoicing in support of cybersecurity shared services
- Support vendor capacity planning by communicating funding allocations related to new shared services customers per established cost models
- Develop and execute procurement requests and supporting forms for labor, hardware, and software purchases.
- Brief CISO to secure executive approval for procurement requests.
- Monitor vendor costs, including labor burn and projections, to ensure services are not exceeding authorized funding.
- Manage schedules per client budget execution cycles, to include anticipating key dates and events which helps the client stay ahead of deadlines.
- Collaborate with service owners to formulate budget requests for future O&M and project activities; help service owners articulate justifications to support approvals.
