Role summary

Apex Companies is seeking an Environmental Scientist for their Minneapolis office. This role involves performing field work on environmental projects across Minnesota and the Midwest, including due diligence, site investigations, remediation, and stormwater compliance. Responsibilities include collecting various environmental samples, analyzing and interpreting data, and preparing reports. The ideal candidate will have a BS in a related field, 0-3+ years of experience in environmental field sampling and data collection, strong technical writing and communication skills, and a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. Experience with data management and report preparation is also desired. Light construction experience is a plus. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Your Responsibilities as a Environmental Scientist:

  • Perform field work on a dynamic portfolio of environmental projects across Minnesota and the Midwest, including environmental due diligence, site investigations/delineation, remediation, and stormwater compliance.
  • Collect soil, water, air, and/or building material samples.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data. 
  • Input data into template reports.
  • Actively develop your own career growth.

    • What we're looking for:

  • BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or other related field.
  • 0-3+ years of experience with environmental field sampling and data collection.
  • Strong technical writing skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
  • Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.
  • Experience with data management and report preparation.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
