Role summary

The Machine Translation team is seeking Software Engineers to build and improve machine learning automation and tooling, focusing on model automation pipelines for large-scale systems, spoken language, big data, and AI. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining automation pipelines for training, evaluating, and deploying ML models, building scalable distributed data processing systems, and designing CI/CD pipelines for ML model deployment and monitoring. The role requires proficiency in Python, experience with big data frameworks (Spark, Dataflow, Dask), and a strong understanding of CI/CD practices. Familiarity with ML concepts and frameworks like PyTorch or JAX is a plus.

Description
You will be part of a team that's responsible for a wide variety of language technologies related development activities. Your focus will be on building and maintaining the infrastructure and tooling that powers model automation pipelines, ensuring they are highly scalable, robust and efficient. 5+ years of software engineering experience building scalable, production-quality systems
Excellent coding skills in Python and experience with software infrastructure tools

Strong experience with ML concepts (model training, evaluation, experiment tracking) is a plus
Strong experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX is a plus
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of software engineering experience building scalable, production-quality systems
Proficient coding skills in Python and experience with software infrastructure tools
Experience with big data frameworks (Spark/Dataflow/Dask), large distributed systems, and cloud computing
Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, hands on experience in pipeline building, orchestration system and deployment workflows
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Familiarity with ML concepts (model training, evaluation, experiment tracking) is a plus
Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX is a plus

Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $210,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
