Sr SDET – AWS Serverless
Role summary
We are seeking a Senior SDET to lead and execute quality strategies for a cloud-native, serverless microservices platform on AWS. This role involves hands-on development of scalable automation solutions, focusing on backend services, event-driven integrations, APIs, and frontend testing. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to minimize production defects, enhance integration reliability, and modernize quality practices. Key responsibilities include designing test strategies, building automation frameworks, implementing contract testing, validating serverless workflows, and integrating quality gates into CI/CD pipelines. The role requires strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript/Node.js, experience with automation frameworks, and deep expertise in testing REST APIs and distributed systems within an AWS serverless environment.

We are hiring a Senior SDET to lead and actively execute our quality strategy within a cloud-native, serverless microservices platform on AWS — partnering closely with engineers while building and implementing scalable automation solutions hands-on.
This is not a traditional QA role. You will design, build, and evolve an automation-first testing strategy across backend services, event-driven integrations, APIs, frontend (Cypress), and CI/CD pipelines — working closely with engineering teams to reduce production defects, improve integration reliability, and modernize our overall quality approach.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong programming skills (TypeScript/JavaScript/Node.js or similar)

- Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, IAM)
- Experience with Cypress (or equivalent) for frontend automation
- CI/CD pipeline integration experience
Responsibilities:
- Redesign and enforce a scalable test strategy aligned with a healthy test pyramid
- Build robust API and integration automation frameworks
- Implement contract testing across microservices
- Validate serverless workflows (Lambda, event-driven flows, IAM, retries, DLQs)
- Integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines
- Reduce regression time and flaky test rates
- Mentor engineers and drive shared ownership of quality
