Position Description:

ARiA is seeking highly motivated software engineers specializing in full-stack development for the visualization of complex scientific data—generated by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and physics-based numerical simulations—in two- and three-dimensional virtual environments and geospatial displays. These positions are an opportunity to join a high-velocity firm where you will engage deeply in challenging problems while developing the connective tissue between cutting-edge research algorithms and tactical, user-facing systems.

Success at ARiA is measured by technical stewardship and collective advancement. We value humble high-performers—experts who advocate for defensible ideas with confidence but exercise the intellectual humility to acknowledge when they are wrong. In our firm, every engineer is a leader; you must be a collaborative partner who views secure, maintainable code as a service to the broader research mission.

*Responsibilities:*

  • Scientific Visualization: Design and develop 2D/3D virtual environments and geospatial displays that enable users to interact with and interpret data from physics-based simulations and AI/ML models
  • Research-to-Product Integration: Build and test software that bridges the gap between novel computational and AI/ML models and robust, mission-ready full-stack applications
  • Secure Development: Implement "Secure-by-Design" principles, ensuring all code meets evolving CMMC and NIST 800-171/53 standards within an automated CI/CD framework
  • AI Integration: Leverage and develop AI-augmented engineering workflows to accelerate the transition of machine-learning models into fielded prototypes
  • Mission Partnership: Work closely with ARiA scientists to identify technical trade-offs, ensuring that user interfaces are both technically robust and scientifically accurate

Requirements:

United States Citizenship and eligibility for a government security investigation are mandatory

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant technical field

Polyglot Proficiency: Expertise in modern languages including C, C++, Golang, JavaScript (React/BabylonJS/CesiumJS), and Python

Modern Deployment Stack: Experience with containerization (Docker) and microservices architecture (GraphQL Mesh, gRPC)

Intellectual Humility: Demonstrated ability to work independently while remaining highly receptive to peer feedback and technical cross-examination

Technical Communication: Superior ability to translate high-level mathematical and AI concepts into clear, actionable software designs

Desirable Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Master’s degree or greater in a relevant technical field
