Node.js Software Engineer
Role summary
We are seeking a Node.js Software Engineer for a contract role in Toronto, requiring 4 days onsite. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience, with at least 4 years in production-grade software development and building scalable applications using Node.js, REST, GraphQL, and Kafka. Proficiency in MSSQL with query optimization skills is essential. Experience with DevOps pipelines (GitHub, Jenkins, UCD), cloud platforms (OpenShift), and monitoring tools (Kibana, Dynatrace) is required. The role also involves working in an Agile environment and strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder presentations. Experience in the Wealth Management industry is a plus.

Must have:
• 4+ years’ experience in professional, production-grade software development working on highly-scalable, moderately complex projects
• 4+ years’ Experience building
REST, GraphQL for APIs
and
Kafka
applications using
NodeJs
• Hands on with
MSSQL
database and skills for complex query optimization
• Strong experience working in an Agile environment, working with project teams to deliver small to largely complex projects
• Comfortable with presenting prototypes, enhancements and facilitating questions with insightful responses to a varying range of audiences (i.e., business sponsors, product owners, adjacent technical teams, etc.) during agile ceremonies, adhoc and/or when needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues
• Experience with
Devops pipeline
using GitHub, Jenkin, UCD and logs/monitoring tools like Kibana, Dynatrace etc and OpenShift cloud platform
