Role summary

AR-Worx is seeking a part-time, remote Mid-Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance its cloud-based software solutions. The role involves designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, managing Kubernetes clusters (AKS), automating infrastructure, and ensuring system reliability and security. Responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting, cost optimization, and establishing DevOps best practices. The ideal candidate will have 3-6+ years of experience, strong Kubernetes and Docker skills, proficiency in Azure, and experience with CI/CD and monitoring tools. Scripting skills in Bash/Shell and Python are essential. The role also requires experience in cloud security and team leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines preferred) for automated software delivery
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters (AKS) across development, staging, and production environments
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts
  • Monitor system performance and reliability using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure high system availability and uptime
  • Implement and enforce security best practices including RBAC, network policies, and secret management (Azure Key Vault)
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure costs through autoscaling and resource right-sizing
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment workflows and system performance
  • Establish logging, monitoring, and alerting standards across services
  • Support environment consistency across dev, staging, and production
  • Mentor engineers and promote DevOps best practices

What You Bring

  • 3–6+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (AKS or similar)
  • Experience with Docker containerization
  • Experience with Helm for Kubernetes package management
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable)
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash/Shell, Python)
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles
  • Experience implementing security best practices in cloud environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and system-level thinking
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar databases
  • Familiarity with backend systems (Node.js, Python, APIs)
  • Experience with mobile or web application CI/CD pipelines
  • Exposure to cost optimization strategies in cloud environments
  • Experience supporting high-availability distributed systems
