Role summary
Arcfield is seeking a Mission Optimization AI/ML Engineer to lead AI/ML adoption for complex systems analysis, focusing on optimization and deployment. This role involves guiding AI/ML strategy, assessing industry approaches, and serving as a subject matter expert. The engineer will develop integration strategies for AI-driven analytics and ensure compliance with security and data governance frameworks. A TS/SCI with Poly clearance is required, along with a Bachelor's degree and 12-15 years of experience, or equivalent advanced degrees and experience. Minimum of eight years guiding AI/ML strategy in complex environments is essential, along with deep expertise in AI/ML frameworks and cloud platforms.

This individual will be a trusted advisor, guiding AI/ML strategy to ensure alignment with our customer's priorities while assessing industry approaches for cost-efficiency and technical viability. The candidate should also have experience being a subject matter expert (SME) in their field, providing clear guidance and support to stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Lead AI/ML innovation initiatives focused on predictive modeling, automation, and advanced data analysis.
- Direct the prototyping of deep learning applications for computer vision, sensor intelligence, and anomaly detection.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, offering technical and strategic advice to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate emerging AI/ML advancements to identify transformative opportunities for operational efficiency and mission effectiveness.
- Oversee the optimization and deployment of scalable AI solutions across edge and cloud environments.
- Develop integration strategies for AI-driven analytics within enterprise systems for the purpose of enhancing customer’s mission effectiveness.
- Ensure strict compliance with security policies and data governance frameworks to uphold operational integrity.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly.
- Bachelor's degree with 12-15 years total professional experience in a relevant field such as AI/ML, Data Science, Engineering, or Systems Analysis (or Master's degree with 10-13 years or PhD with 10+ years).
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience guiding AI/ML strategy and implementation in complex operational environments.
- Deep expertise in AI/ML frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
- Strong leadership in managing AI-driven initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience driving the adoption of cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) for mission-critical applications.
- Proven ability to assess, develop, and optimize AI models for real-time and large-scale data operations.
Desired:
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in AI/ML, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical domain.
- Experience in applying AI/ML to defense, cybersecurity, or mission-critical operations.
- Expertise in data engineering, feature engineering, and model deployment strategies.
- Familiarity with automated machine learning (AutoML) techniques.
- Professional AI/ML certifications such as Microsoft Certified AI Engineer Associate or AWS Machine Learning Specialty.
