Role summary

Ariston Group is seeking a Product Manager to oversee the performance of its product portfolio, driving economic value through coordination across Engineering, Production, Quality, Sales, and Marketing. This role is responsible for developing pricing strategies, identifying new product opportunities, and creating marketing tools and sales resources to maximize product adoption and sales performance. The Product Manager will also provide product education and training to sales teams, conduct market research, monitor competitive activity, and prepare sales forecasts. A minimum of two years of experience in product development within the water heater and boiler industry is required, along with proficiency in MS Office. The role emphasizes strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Job description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Product Manager is accountable for the overall performance of Ariston Group’s product portfolio. This role oversees and coordinates activities across Engineering, Production, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and the marketplace to drive optimal economic value (EVA) for both new and existing products.

As a management position, the Product Manager is also responsible for supporting the sales organization by providing effective marketing tools and resources to maximize product adoption and sales performance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recommends and establishes pricing structures, policies, and discount programs based on cost analysis and competitive market conditions.
  • Identifies new product opportunities and recommends product enhancements or modifications based on marketing research and analysis of customer needs and preferences.
  • Develops and maintains marketing tools and materials, including sales and technical literature, advertising, videos, competitive comparison spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations to support product promotion.
  • Provides education and training to field sales teams on new and existing products.
  • Researches and identifies potential markets for new and existing product lines.
  • Conducts field and trade show visits to monitor competitive activity and industry trends.
  • Designs and administers surveys to support research into new concepts and existing product improvements.
  • Prepares and provides individual product sales forecasts.
  • Analyzes market performance for Ariston Group products and recommends product additions, discontinuations, modifications, sales promotions, and improvements to marketing literature.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Assists in determining applicable regulatory requirements by product category and target market.
  • Maintains accurate records and prepares reports to track market and area activity.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President, Sales & Marketing.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

The following is a brief description of some of the processes in the Product Manager’s duties but is not limited to:
A.    Minimum two years experience in product development with industry knowledge of water heaters and boilers.
B.    Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships across all levels internally and externally.
C.    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
D.    Ability to effectively manage crisis situations.
E.    Demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects with minimum supervision.
F.    Ability to organize and conduct successful trips.
G.    Experienced in the applications of: MS Office, which includes Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
REPORTING TO:   Regional Product Director, Heating

SUBORDINATES:  N/A

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Required - associate’s degree
Preferred - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required - Minimum two years’ experience in product development with industry knowledge of water heaters and boilers.
Required - Excellent writing, communication and organizational skills.  Attention to detail.
Required - Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Required - Proficient computer skills using Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Preferred - Experience in HVAC, hydronic heating or water heating products.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Language Skills – Ability to read, write and speak English.  Ability to effectively present information to management.
  • Mathematical Skills – Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Physical Demands – Physical Activities:  Ability to stand, walk and sit.   Ability to reach and use arms, hands and fingers.  Ability to hear.
  • Weight Limitations – Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Vision Requirements – Close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment – Quiet conditions in the office.
  • Personal, Protective Equipment - Ability to wear safety glasses and other job related personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Travel – As needed, anticipated approximately 15%.
