Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer in Redmond, WA, to join their Test Engineering Team. The role focuses on producing robust test equipment, plans, and procedures for AES production. Responsibilities include designing test interface fixtures, developing test software using C#, creating test specifications based on product requirements, and developing test validation strategies. The engineer will also perform validation of test equipment using statistical methods and plan labor, schedules, and equipment for testing. A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline and typically 3+ years of relevant experience are required. Familiarity with electrical circuit design, schematic capture, simulation, troubleshooting electronic circuitry with oscilloscopes, and C# programming is essential.

JOB SUMMARY

The ultimate objective for Electrical Test Engineer is to successfully produce robust test equipment, plans and procedures that meet the needs of AES production.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Receiving general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new projects/assignments, the Test Engineer - Electrical position will utilize electrical expertise as follows:

  • Designs test interface fixtures used with complex test equipment systems. Devices under test have varied and complex interface protocols.
  • Develops test software for Automated Test System following department coding standards and guidelines.
  • Develops test specifications based on product equipment specifications, working collaboratively with others on the product development team.
  • Develops test validation strategy for complicated products.
  • Performs validation of test equipment and systems used for product testing using applicable statistical methods.
  • Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
  • All other duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrates familiarity (typically 3+ years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position)

  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
  • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Technical Skills:

  • Electrical circuit design, schematic capture and simulation of digital and analog circuits for a broad range of test applications.
  • Able to troubleshoot electronic circuitry with oscilloscope or other test equipment.
  • C# programming – able to write and review code with enough fluency to develop and debug test procedures.
  • Able to understand and adapt previously developed test equipment circuitry and software.
  • Office suite software.

Employment Eligibility Requirements:

- As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Therefore, you
must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible

Base Salary is $79,293 - $118,940 per year.
The mid-point for this range is $99,117.

The actual salary offered will be influenced by several job-related and non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions, and business needs.
