Specialized R&D / Defense Technology

Kansas or Oklahoma

$130,000 - $136,000

The Company

  • My client is a highly specialized engineering firm supporting critical federal and defense initiatives.
  • Their core mission involves building next-generation sensor fusion platforms to process complex, multi-modal signals for anomaly detection.
  • They offer the stability of multi-year, mission-critical funding combined with a low-ceremony, high-autonomy engineering culture.

Why Join?

- Take
ownership
as the foundational MLOps Engineer on a
greenfield
, rapidly scaling project.
- Solve complex scaling challenges with low-TRL temporal data models.
- Work largely independently in a remote-first or hybrid environment.
- Collaborate directly with data scientists to bridge the gap between prototype algorithms and production-ready distributed systems.

The Role

  • Design and build reproducible deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines from scratch to transition code from local environments to modern Git-based workflows.
  • Implement and scale machine learning algorithms in a distributed processing environment.
  • Provision cloud resources and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Operate and select orchestration frameworks (such as Airflow, Ray, Dask, or Spark) alongside event-driven autoscaling tools like KEDA.
  • Construct ML pipelines covering feature extraction, model versioning, training, and inference for spatiotemporal sensor datasets.
  • Integrate temporal data models built in TensorFlow, Torch, or Keras into scalable lakehouse and event-based ETL architectures.

The Essential Requirements

- Eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance -
U.S. Citizenship required.
- 3+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures for large
spatiotemporal datasets.
- SDirect hands-on experience scaling data or ML workloads specifically using
KEDA.
- trong programming experience in Python (Polars, Pandas, PyArrow, NumPy).
- Familiarity with complex
spatiotemporal data
processing and propagation models.
- Practical familiarity with distributed systems, containerization, and orchestration tools.

What Will Make You Stand Out

- Experience with cybersecurity, telecommunications, or
defense
operations.
