Accounts Payable Clerk

Job description:

Our company is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk to join our accounting team. This role is critical to the daily operations of the department and requires strong time management skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort, code, and match invoices
• Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system
• Route invoices for appropriate managerial approvals and follow up to ensure timely processing
• Maintain a comprehensive log of invoices received, pending approval, paid, or requiring further action
• Process employee and executive expense reports
• Review and verify invoices and payment requests
• Set up invoices for payment and ensure check runs are performed as scheduled
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and monitor outstanding balances
• Prepare account analysis and monthly reports
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain up-to-date and organized vendor files
• Assist with month-end closing activities
• Provide supporting documentation as needed for audits

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable
• Strong knowledge of general accounting procedures
• At least 1 year of experience using SAP is preferred
• Highly proficient in data entry and invoice processing
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
