Role summary
SharePointXperts is seeking a Mid-career level HPC Linux Software Engineer for a High Performance Computing (HPC) R&D customer contract. The role is based in Colorado Springs, CO, and requires an active TS//SCI with CI Poly clearance. The engineer will be part of the Technical User Support (TUS) team, interacting with various stakeholders on-site. Key responsibilities include developing and using modeling and simulation software, supporting HPC users, and applying proficiency in Linux, Fortran, C, C++, BASH, and Korn. The position also involves adhering to software development best practices, debugging existing code, and potentially mentoring junior engineers.
We are seeking a Mid-career level *HPC Linux Software Engineer* that will work in a High Performance Computing (HPC) Research and Development (R&D) customer contract. The candidate will be an active member of the Technical User Support (TUS) team, interacting with the team, TUS team lead, program Chief Scientist, Customers, users, and site staff while on-site with a specific R&D customer.
Clearance Requirement:Must hold an active TS//SCI with CI Poly

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM related discipline and a minimum of 10 years of professional level experience
- Around 5 years of experience developing and using modeling and simulation software in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments
- Working with HPC users workflow for mod/sim problems and GUIs
- Knowledge of High Performance Computing (HPC) environment and related technologies
- Demonstrated proficiency with Fortran, C, and/or C++
- Demonstrated proficiency with BASH and Korn
- Linux Operating System proficiency, ability to solve end-user computer system problems while working independently in a lab environment.
- Proficiency in basic software practices such as coding standards, unit testing, and configuration management
- Strong ability to analyze, debug, and maintain the integrity of an existing code base
- Demonstrated proficiency in software development process including requirements, use cases, design, coding, documentation and testing of scalable, distributed applications in a Linux environment
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or scientists, providing technical guidance, and conducting code review sessions
- Experience designing and delivering training workshops, tutorials, or onboarding material for HPC users and internal staff
- Strong communication skills a results-oriented team player, creative thinker, and problem-solver
- Superior programming skills and excellent attention to detail
- Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work
