Beacon AI is seeking Lead Engineers with 5-9 years of experience to join their hybrid team in San Carlos, CA. This role involves leading and mentoring a small team of engineers while remaining hands-on in system design and execution. The Lead Engineer will own projects from prototype to deployment, contributing to safer and more autonomous aviation systems. The position requires strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to effort, creativity, and accountability. Specific technical areas include iOS, Security, Backend/Infrastructure, WebApp/Frontend, and Autonomy/Robotics.

We’ve completed multiple DoD programs and are expanding our team with exceptional technical leaders to push the boundaries of human-machine collaboration in the cockpit. At Beacon, you will lead by example, mentoring and growing a small team of talented engineers (typically 1–2 to start) while staying hands-on in design and execution. You’ll help shape critical systems that advance aviation safety and autonomy, working alongside a team that values effort, creativity, and accountability.
