Role summary
Better Digital is seeking a remote Data Engineer specializing in Customer Data Platforms (CDP) to own the data layer for enterprise personalization initiatives. The role involves schema design, connector configuration, identity stitching, and data quality governance, particularly within Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) implementations. This is a hands-on role requiring 5+ years of data engineering experience, deep understanding of XDM schema and identity graphs, fluency in SQL and Python, and proficiency in a major cloud platform. The engineer will collaborate with client architects and senior strategists, explaining complex data architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders. Enterprise personalization runs on clean data. Most programs don’t have it.
You’ll be the person who fixes that. As a CDP Data Engineer at Better Digital, you’ll own the data layer: schema design, source connector configuration, identity stitching, and data quality governance across complex AEP implementations at enterprise scale.
This is not a support role. You’ll work directly with client architects and our senior strategy team to make sure the foundation is right before anything gets built on top of it. You are accountable for whether the data foundation actually holds up when personalization runs on top of it.
What this takes:
- 5+ years of data engineering experience, ideally with AEP or a comparable CDP
- Deep understanding of XDM schema design and identity graph concepts
- Fluency in SQL, Python, and at least one major cloud platform
- The ability to explain data architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders without losing the precision
This role offers a base salary in the range of $165,000–$185,000 annually, based on experience.
