About Us

We're an unfunded game studio startup developing a new genre of competitive PvP game featuring a fast paced blend of multiplayer action and familiar MMORPG mechanics. Our focus is sharp combat, strong character identity, and a competitive community without the usual barriers that keep players out.

Startup Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly experienced Game Director or Lead Designer, along with senior, principal, and lead talent across disciplines, to join us as a founding member. This is an early-stage, volunteer-for-now role until funding lands, with equity offered for meaningful contributions. If you need a paycheck immediately, this likely isn’t the right fit, but if you’re entrepreneurial and excited by building something from the ground up, this is a chance to be involved from the start.

State of Play

We’re deep in prototyping and actively pitching, working to bring the core experience to the finish line. Once funded, we plan to grow into a world-class team built around our founding members. Everyone here is a professional choosing how and when they contribute, collaborating as peers to create something genuinely new.

Job Description:

You'll play a crucial role in shaping our overall game design to ensure coherence with our broader creative direction. You will own the design of all game features, systems and gameplay mechanics, and work to ensure quality implementation thereof through adherence to game design and development best practices. You will lead the game design team and oversee all aspects of the game design process, including design documentation, prototyping, ability/spell integration, UX, class balancing, testing, etc., from pre-production through production, launch and post-launch operations.

Need to Have:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Game, Gameplay or Systems Game Designer.
  • Deep understanding of RPG and/or competitive PVP game mechanics and systems.
  • Ability to prototype, iterate and optimize gameplay features in Unreal.
  • Responsive, proactive, reliable and able to work collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Passion for gaming, PvP dynamics, and fantasy/sci-fi genres.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in Systems/Technical Game Design and/or 3D Level Design.
  • Have shipped multiple games from start to finish in a game design capacity.
  • Previous experience in senior or lead game design or game director roles.
  • Proficiency in Blueprint and/or C++ within Unreal Engine 5.
  • Prior multiplayer game design experience, ideally in competitive PvP genres.
  • Familiarity with action combat, player engagement and/or economy/monetization systems.

Again, this is initially an unpaid position as we work towards securing investment/funding and/or publishing partners. The plan is for this to convert to a paid position, once we are sufficiently funded, with an opportunity for equity and/or profit sharing depending on your level of effort, contributions and experience.
