Overview:
A leading global investment management organization is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join its Data Engineering team. This role sits within the firm's enterprise data platform group responsible for delivering high-quality, trusted data products that support critical reporting, analytics, and business applications.
The platform spans the entire data lifecycle from ingestion and transformation to distribution through APIs, analytics tools, and internal applications. The team builds scalable infrastructure and curated data products used across portfolio management, trading, risk, compliance, operations, and finance.
This position is part of a globally distributed engineering team working in a fast-paced, agile environment to deliver modern data platform capabilities.
Position Summary:
The Senior Full Stack Developer will play a key role in designing and building scalable data pipelines, optimizing data infrastructure, and developing API-driven data services. The role requires strong engineering expertise across backend services, data engineering pipelines, and modern cloud platforms.
This role is highly hands-on and focused on building robust data pipelines, designing layered data architectures, and delivering curated datasets that power enterprise reporting, analytics, and API-based applications, while supporting emerging AI and agent-enabled data workflows.
The ideal candidate has strong experience working across the full stack, including backend engineering, modern data platforms, and frontend frameworks for data-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Platform Development
- Design and build scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines for new enterprise data sources.
- Develop and maintain multi-layered data architectures including raw, refined, and curated datasets.
- Build semantic data models and data products to enable consistent reporting and analytics across business teams.
API & Application Development
- Deliver data services through REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Build and maintain microservices based applications supporting internal data platforms.
- Contribute to front-end development for internal data tools using React.
Data Optimization & Performance
- Improve existing pipelines and datasets by addressing: Data quality issues, Pipeline reliability, Query performance, Integration stability
- Optimize performance across data platforms through: Query tuning, Partitioning and clustering strategies, Warehouse optimization, Distributed processing improvements
Engineering Practices
- Work within a controlled SDLC environment including code reviews, documentation, validation, and change management.
- Support production environments and participate in on-call rotation.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams across multiple regions.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer, Data Engineer, or similar engineering role.
- Strong hands-on experience building end-to-end data pipelines and APIs.
- Expertise in Python and Java in production environments.
- Experience building microservices architectures using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong React frontend development experience.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and frontier models (e.g., Codex, Claude, Cursor, or similar) to accelerate software development, debugging, and code optimization.
- Familiarity with designing AI-enabled workflows or agent-driven solutions that integrate enterprise data and APIs.
- Experience with GraphQL or REST API development.
- Deep experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred), including experience with event-driven architectures and streaming technologies such as Azure Event Hubs or similar messaging platforms (Kafka, Kinesis, etc.).
- Experience with modern data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake.
- Strong understanding of modern data architecture patterns: Data ingestion, Transformation pipelines, Storage layers, Semantic data layers, Data consumption through BI tools and APIs.
- Experience supporting high-scale data environments with millions of records processed daily.
- Strong performance tuning experience across pipelines and warehouses.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience working with financial services or asset management data.
- Exposure to private equity or investment data platforms.
- Experience building AI-enabled data workflows or AI-assisted development environments.
- BI enablement experience including semantic modeling for tools such as: Tableau, Power BI, Sigma, Pyramid Analytics.
\*\*The base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000 base salary, with flexibility for exceptional candidates\*\*
