Role summary

The Software QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through comprehensive testing methodologies. This role requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and proficiency in test management software. The engineer will perform manual testing of RESTful APIs and collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve defects. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and various testing tools is preferred. The position is home-based with occasional travel.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on software quality assurance testing methodology.
  • Experience in Agile and waterfall methodologies including experience with Atlassian or similar tools.
  • Proficient in test management software.
  • Some experience with manual testing of RESTful API’s.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs.

Preferred Skill/Abilities:

  • Testing experience within an organization that has utilized Rapid or Agile SDLC.
  • Familiar with SSRS reporting.
  • Understanding of software design and programming principles.
  • Experience with OpenAI Chatbot.
  • Experience with AWS Pinpoint.
  • Amazon Web Services (S3, IAM, CloudWatch, AWS API Gateway, DynamoDB)
  • Basic understanding of LAN/WAN networking and physical and virtual hardware systems related to the IT operational environment.
  • Experience with UNIX systems.
  • Experience with browser testing tools like HTTPWatch, FireBug, WireShark, and Fiddler.
  • Prior experience in Retail, Mail Order of Specialty Pharmacy, PBM, pharmaceutical or managed health care industry preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Home-based office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and occasional local and/or overnight travel, including exposure to heat, cold, and inclement weather conditions. Transportation for travel typically will include automobile and plane.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
