This hybrid role focuses on ensuring the stability, reliability, and scalability of a critical Market Risk platform used for regulatory reporting, stress testing, and risk analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Platform/Systems Engineering, Linux/Unix environments, Python and Shell scripting, SQL, and batch processing systems. Responsibilities include monitoring, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and driving automation within a regulated, high-control environment. Experience with market risk platforms, financial services, or cloud technologies is a plus.

Hiring: Platform Engineer III – Market Risk Systems (Cincinnati, OH | Hybrid)

We are looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to support a critical Market Risk Technology platform, ensuring stability, reliability, and scalability for regulatory reporting, stress testing, and daily risk analysis.

Key Skills & Expertise:

• Strong experience in Platform Engineering / Production Support / Systems Engineering

• Hands-on expertise with Linux/Unix environments

• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting

• Solid experience with SQL and relational databases

• Deep understanding of batch processing systems in production environments

• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis (RCA) skills

• Experience with system monitoring, observability, and performance optimization

• Exposure to job scheduling tools and automation of operational processes

• Ability to work in regulated, high-control environments

Nice to Have:

• Experience with market risk platforms (Adaptiv or similar)

• Background in financial services / capital markets / risk technology

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and data services

• Understanding of market risk concepts such as VaR, stress testing, and sensitivities

What You’ll Do:

• Support and maintain a high-impact market risk platform

• Monitor production workflows, batch jobs, and system health

• Troubleshoot failures, optimize performance, and enhance reliability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Risk, Quant, Data, and Infrastructure

• Drive automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
