Role summary

Blueprint is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in CI/CD and Release Engineering to join their technology solutions firm. This role involves embedding within engineering teams to design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and release workflows for reliable software delivery. Responsibilities include improving build systems, automating deployments, enhancing developer productivity, and ensuring high-quality releases through automation and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in DevOps or related fields, strong scripting skills, and hands-on experience with CI/CD tools. Preferred qualifications include cloud experience, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code knowledge.

In This Role

In this role, you will be embedded within engineering teams to design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and release workflows that enable reliable, scalable, and efficient software delivery. You will focus on improving build systems, automating deployments, and enhancing developer productivity by reducing friction in the software release lifecycle.

You will partner closely with developers, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure high-quality releases through automation, observability, and continuous improvement of deployment processes. This role emphasizes hands-on engineering, problem-solving, and driving operational excellence across application delivery systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated build, test, and deployment workflows

• Optimize pipeline performance, reduce build times, and improve release reliability

• Automate deployment processes using scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and infrastructure-as-code practices

• Develop and manage build systems and release pipelines for large-scale applications

• Implement automated validation, testing, and release gating mechanisms to ensure production readiness

• Improve observability by integrating logging, monitoring, and telemetry into pipelines and deployment workflows

• Troubleshoot and resolve build failures, deployment issues, and performance bottlenecks

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve developer workflows and release efficiency

• Support scalable infrastructure for build and test environments (e.g., self-hosted agents, virtualized environments)

• Contribute to documentation for pipelines, deployment processes, and operational best practices

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, Release Engineering, or related roles

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)

• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or similar languages

• Experience designing and optimizing build and release pipelines

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategies

• Experience with automated testing integration in CI/CD pipelines

• Knowledge of application deployment processes and release management practices

• Experience working in cross-functional engineering environments

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in build and deployment systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale or high-throughput build systems

• Exposure to cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) and scalable infrastructure

• Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., monitoring, logging, telemetry platforms)

• Experience in gaming, media, or high-performance application environments

• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep)

• Experience improving developer productivity through tooling and automation

• Understanding of secure deployment practices and DevSecOps principles

Salary Range

At Blueprint, we strive to offer competitive pay that reflects the value of our team members. Compensation for this role is influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographic market. For candidates based in Washington State, the anticipated salary range is $125,000– $130,000 USD per annum. Please note that we typically do not hire new employees at the top of the posted range. Actual starting pay will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The final salary and job title may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications and could fall outside the stated range.
