Role summary

We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to enhance, implement, and maintain security measures for computer systems, networks, and information. This role involves ensuring compliance with the NIST Cybersecurity framework, conducting regular security assessments and audits, and monitoring network activity to detect and respond to security incidents. The engineer will also be responsible for enhancing incident response plans, conducting forensic investigations, and managing the Vulnerability and Patch Management System. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Network/Systems administration and 2-3 years of hands-on Cybersecurity experience, with proficiency in networking, network security, and relevant Cisco and Qualys platforms.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enhance, implement, and monitor, and maintain security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks, and information.
  • Ensure cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards are in compliance with the NIST Cybersecurity framework.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Monitor network and system activity to detect and respond to security incidents.
  • Be a technical resource for cybersecurity best practices and protocols.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Enhance and maintain incident response plans to address security breaches and mitigate damage.
  • Monitor events and conduct forensic investigations and analysis in the event of a security breach.
  • Manage the Vulnerability and Patch Management System, which includes Software Version Control, CIS Assessments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with security analysis tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to conduct security assessments and audits.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and investigative thinking mindset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in engineering, administering, securing, and troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading a local area network of at least 250-300 nodes and a wide area network spanning across multiple geographically disperse sites.
  • Experience working with Meraki firewalls, switches, and wireless access points; Cisco routers, firewalls, and Nexus switches; and Cisco AMP, Umbrella, DUO, AnyConnect platforms.
  • Experience working with Cisco Security Suite (Umbrella, Endpoint, DUO, AnyConnect, etc.) or similar security platforms.
  • Experience working with Qualys or other Vulnerability and Patch Management systems.
  • Experience working with Cybersecurity forensics and tools.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Network/Systems administration or management, i.e. Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, Network and Systems Administration.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on Cybersecurity experience
  • Proficient understanding of networking, network security (i.e. encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems).
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications, such as: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CCNA/CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
