Role summary
Pharmavite's Women's Health portfolio is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data models and transformation pipelines. This role focuses on SQL-based transformations and modeling using dbt within a cloud data stack. The Data Engineer will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and accessibility, support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives with high-quality data foundations, and report to a Senior Data Engineer. The position emphasizes SQL, dbt, data warehousing concepts, cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), version control, and data quality.

Job Summary
The
Data Engineer
is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable data models and transformation pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and advanced analytical use cases across the organization. This role focuses primarily on SQL-based transformation and modeling using dbt within a modern cloud data stack. The Data Engineer partners closely with analytics and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, well-structured, and accessible, and supports advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives through high-quality data foundations. The Data Engineer reports to a Senior Data Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable analytics-ready data models using dbt
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL transformations that convert raw data into clean, reliable datasets
- Collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into data models
- Ensure data reliability, accuracy, and freshness through testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting data pipelines
- Support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives by preparing well-structured, high-quality datasets
- Implement and maintain best practices for version control, testing, and documentation within dbt
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the data platform to support scalability and future growth

Required Qualifications
In order to take on these challenges, you’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of professional experience writing and maintaining SQL
- 1+ years of experience using dbt to build and manage data models
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and analytical data modeling
- Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery
- Familiarity with data requirements for advanced analytics or machine learning use cases
- Experience using Git or other version control systems
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work cross-functionally

SALARY RANGE
National Target Base Pay Range: $94,000.00 - $156,000.00
. The salary range for this position is based on national standards.
For candidates in California and New York metro the Target Base Pay Range is $104,000 - $173,000
, to reflect the cost of living and market conditions in those areas.
Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
Base pay is only one component of our total rewards offerings, and we will take the full offering into consideration when presenting an offer of employment. Our total rewards package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, Medical, dental and vision benefits, 401K match, and other wellness benefits.
This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.
