Bragg Companies is seeking a Sr. Business Systems Analyst (BSA) for its Long Beach, CA headquarters. This onsite role focuses on leveraging the Microsoft Power Platform and Azure Data Analytics ecosystem to digitize and automate operations. The BSA will be responsible for data architecture, requirements analysis, developing BI and reporting solutions using Power BI, SQL, and SSRS, and ensuring data governance and quality. The position requires 3+ years of experience with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query, strong SQL skills, and proficiency with the Microsoft Power Platform and M365. The role involves creating datasets, deploying them for business use, and collaborating across teams to drive data-driven improvements.

Position Overview:
Bragg Companies is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with expertise in Power BI, Purview, SQL, SSRS, and the Microsoft Power Platform to join our enterprise-wide Information Technology team. The role requires independent judgement and discretion to solve complex business and technical problems through analytics, modeling, and experimentation. The BSA creates large-scale datasets and deploys them in a manner to make them easily consumable and actionable for business owners and end-users
The BSA plays a key role in Bragg’s efforts to digitize and automate its operations utilizing the Microsoft Power Platform. This can be hands-on or in partnership with third-party and internal IT resources. The BSA also ensures that all developed solutions optimize Bragg’s data analytics capabilities through the deployment of leading technologies, including: M365, Sharepoint, SQL, Dataverse, DAX, Databricks, Webhooks and Data Factory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Architecture & Requirements Analysis: Gather and interpret business requirements, translate them into functional data and reporting specifications, analyze current-state data processes, and maintain a prioritized backlog of enhancements, integrations, and reporting needs aligned with business objectives.
- Azure & Microsoft Data Platform Development: Serve as the internal SME for Azure Data Analytics and the Microsoft data ecosystem by designing and maintaining databases, data marts, Data Lakes, and DataVerses; developing integrations using Logic Apps, Webhooks, and related services; and ensuring performance, scalability, and data integrity across environments.
- Business Intelligence & Reporting Solutions: Develop and optimize SQL queries, SSRS reports, and Power BI dashboards; automate report distribution through M365; document data models and reporting logic; and ensure BI solutions meet evolving business needs through continuous improvement and stakeholder collaboration.
- Data Governance, Security & Quality Assurance: Implement and uphold data governance and security best practices using Purview; validate data accuracy across systems; support testing cycles for new data solutions and integrations; and ensure reliable, secure, and compliant data environments.
- Training, Enablement & Change Management: Create user-friendly documentation and training materials, empower business users to adopt self‑service analytics through Power BI and M365 tools, and champion data literacy and process improvements across the organization.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Technology Strategy: Partner with IT, operations, and external vendors to design integrated data solutions, support project delivery from requirements through deployment, evaluate emerging technologies, and contribute to a forward‑looking enterprise data and analytics strategy.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; combination of education and relevant experience considered.
- AnalyticsExperience: 3+ years developing reporting and analytics solutions with Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) and low‑code/no‑code tools. Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Teams, SharePoint Online, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to write and interpret SQL queries and work with structured data.
- Analytical & Problem‑Solving: Proven analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving abilities with the ability to understand how processes and data interconnect.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with end‑users, peers, and leadership.
- Work Style: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment, collaborate effectively across teams, and deliver accurate, timely results.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree or progress toward a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate or related Microsoft certifications.
- Technical Experience: Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, Data Lakes, Dataverse, and SharePoint lists as data sources. Familiarity with modern programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, R, HTML/CSS, or ASP.NET.
- Platform Expertise: In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online; experience with broader Microsoft Power Platform capabilities.
- Additional Skills: Experience evaluating new technologies, supporting enterprise data environments, or contributing to data governance and security practices.
Work Environment:
- Physical Conditions: Standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. May occasionally require standing or moving between office areas.
